Student Application support

Breakthrough supports students from communities who are historically underrepresented in post-secondary education. Our students ascribe to at least two of the following communities: First Generation College Bound, Single Parent Household, Low-Income, Person of Color and English Language Learner.

Students can apply during their 5th and 6th grade school year.


BEFORE you begin your application:

  1. Review the application support guide. This contains a copy of all the questions in the application in multiple languages.

  2. Gather your teacher information. All students will need the name and email of a teacher who will write their recommendation.

  3. Gather your student records. All students will need to upload their most recent report card and test scores


BEGIN your application:

Students and parents should work through the application together. Plan to spend 1 hour on the application.

Application Due Date: March 14

Student/Family Interviews: March 31 - April 11

Decision Letters Sent: April 14

Summer Session: June 30 - Aug 1 (NO PROGRAM July 4)
